Island Tides
(w/B. Thompson)

I crossed over the barrier that lies
Like an island adrift in the tides,
Too little too late to make a difference
When the eagle flies it won’t come back again.

Toil and strife for so long I forgot
How to make amends when everything was lost,
I kick dirt over the fire and I go
Anywhere my possessions are blown.

I throw chances to the wind,
I cry out for new beginnings.

Everything I did was called a sin
They made me change everything I believed in,
I fought for all I thought was right
They made me change my solitude driven life.

I frame my world between days and nights
Where the only cost is learning to survive,
Too little too late for my chosen life.

I throw chances to the wind,
I cry out for new beginnings.

Everything I did was called a sin
They made me change everything I believed in,
I fought for all I thought was right
They made me change my solitude driven life.

They made me change my only known life,
They made me change… my chosen life.
